Fermín Mallor

University Professor in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at UPNA

Fermín Mallor is, since 2011, University Professor in the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at UPNA. Previously, he held positions as Head of University and Head of University School at UPNA and Researcher at the University of Zaragoza. He has a degree in mathematics from the University of Zaragoza and a doctorate in mathematics from the UPNA. His main research topics are the simulation and optimization of complex systems (dynamic and stochastic), system reliability, quality control and, in general, the mathematical modelling of problems that require the optimization of resources, especially in production contexts, health and energy.


Professor Mallor’s research is both purely theoretical and methodological and applied, the latter acquiring greater importance over the years. More recently Fermín works on the application of the quantitative techniques mentioned above to the improvement of health services.
